It is preferable when a golf course is designed to have the opening hole as a short par 4 or an easy par 5, which allows golfers of any caliberto play himself

in with an opening par or for the more accomplished golfer a chance for a birdie. The first hole at BPGC was obviously designed with this in mind. A longish drive with a draw is ideal. Aimed at the twin palm trees on the right, you are then left with a wood , long iron or in some cases even a short iron to a not too tightly guarded green, two putt on this relatively easy green (depending on the pin positions ) should give you the par or birdie as the case may be.
